Updating Your Phone Number
Step By Step Instructions
Having your phone number current and correct in Skyward is important if you want to make sure you are able to receive text messages about important things in the district like: snow days, late starts, internet outages, and other announcements that may impact your work.
1. Log into Skyward and make sure you are on the Employee Access view.
2. If you are in Administrative Access, change to Employee Access:
-
Click the drop down arrow next to the Home icon.
-
Select “Employee Access” from the drop down menu.
-
(Note: not all employees will have Administrative Access)
3. You should now see the Employee Access Home Page that displays all of your tiles.
4. Look for the “Online Form: Personal Phone number update” tile and click it.
5. You should now see the form where you can confirm and update your phone numbers as needed. It’s important to note that:
-
The Employee First Phone is the number that will receive texts, so make sure it is the cell phone number you want to receive texts at
-
The Employee Second Phone and Employee Third Phone will not receive texts. Those are just additional numbers you can add. It is recommended that you add your work desk phone and if you have an additional cell phone number you can add that
-
If you are entering your personal cell phone number and you do not want to have that available, you can select the “Confidential” box and that will keep it from being viewable to other employees
6. You can change the “Phone Type” by:
-
Clicking on the drop down arrow.
-
Selecting the type of phone you want to associate the number with. To choose the label, click “Select”
-
Note: This will not affect whether the number receives texts from D49. It will only act as a label when you or someone with authorization looks at your employee information.
7. When you have finished making changes, click “Submit Form” and your number will be updated.
-
Note: there may be a delay from the time you submit this form until it updates in the system that sends text messages, so continue to check the D49 website, social media, and local news sources to make sure you’re current on important information like weather delays and closures.
