School Wellness
All schools have adopted the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model. District 49 operated schools and several charter schools maintain a school WSCC team overseen by Wellness Co-leaders.
School WSCC teams assist in the implementation of the Wellness Guidelines, and the components of WSCC through their annual development and implementation of School Health Improvement Plans (SHIPs). School WSCC teams are composed of individuals within the following areas: Administrators, Health Education, Physical Education, Health Services, Nutrition Services, Counseling, Social & Emotional Climate, Physical Environment, Family Engagement, and Community members.
Success Stories: Each spring Wellness Co-leaders celebrate wellness work by highlighting the wellness work they’ve had over the school year. Check out what each of the schools have done this year to support the health and wellness of staff and students.
